SANDAL UP: STREET STYLE

Just before our new Summer range of sandals come out, we just want to give you a little peak at what has been snapped on the streets of Paris, Berlin, Copenhagen and New York.

MODEL FOCUS: JOURDON DUNN HEARTS FRINGES

Gorgeous British model Jourdon Dunn has not only graced the pages of Vogue, Dazed and Confused, Elle and i-D, walked for the spring Chanel, Christian Dior, Givenchy, and Jean Paul Gaultier couture shows in Paris, but in her off-duty style, she rocks the fringed look. For example, at the S/S 09 shows in Paris, Dunn chose a rich blue, patterned Anna Sui Flutter Sleeve Dress as the foundation of her look. She added a fringed pair of Minnetonka Moccasin Woodstock Boots and a braided skinny belt, both in a honey-colored shade of suede, plus a simple black shoulder bag, resulting in a casually cool outfit. We love a model who incorporates a dash of texture into almost every outfit, such as the fantastic fringed skirt she wore during a recent fashion week in Milan. As Jourdon demonstrates - it's all about the fringe this season.

FRINGED FANTASIES: THE NEW LOOK ON THE STREET

We are really excited about a new range of fringed looks that will be in stock at Joanie Loves ChaChi in the upcoming weeks- a fabulous new bag, fringed sandals and suede vest. Here are some street snaps of how to wear the fringed look.

LEATHER JACKETS: ON THE STREET AND IN THE STORE

Snug-fit leather jackets are making their comeback as the perfect counterpoint to floaty, feminine embroidered dresses and tops.

OFF THE RACK: MORE ABOUT THE DESIGNER

What's it all about: Local Australian Label ‘Joanie Loves ChaChi’ is renowned for its intricate feminine detailing, quirky aesthetic, and timeless styling.

Merging a background infused with experience from within major fashion corporations, and a sensibility born of her success with nationally stocked label ‘Kato’, designer Jodi Griffiths decided to focus on creating a label to cater to the local Sydney markets.

Each range is hand embroidered and beaded in India and all the prints used by Joanie Loves ChaChi are exclusively designed by Jodi, and produced and manufactured either in Sydney, or India.

The collections are an exciting blend of intricate detailing, classic femininity featuring lots of ombre dyes mixed with printed floaty dresses and embroidered styles with floaty 70’s sleeves.

INSPIRATION: INDIA

The colours, the smells, the sounds, the textiles all inspire the designs of Joanie Loves ChaChi.

MUSE: TALITHA GETTY

The Look: Talitha Getty was an Indonesia-born Dutch actress and regarded as a style icon of the late 1960s. The second wife of John Paul Getty she married in 1966 wearing in a white mini-skirt, trimmed with mink. Her look seemed to stylishly typify the hippie fashion of the time and became a model over the years the bohemian chic look. No one could rock a multi-coloured kaftan, white harem pants and white and cream boots in Marrakesh the way Talitha did.

MUSE: NATASHA KAHN, BAT FOR LASHES

The Look: Like the darkly ethereal and eerie songs that echo from her new album, "Two Suns" Kahn's mystical style is a completely captivating blend of influences. She likes pretty things: fur, gold, melody, braids, feathers, the moon, feathers, chords that resolve - and no one looks this good in a Indian headpiece.
